Confessions of a Concealaholic by Benefit and MAC Hue

I nipped to a local jumble sale last weekend and picked up this little bag for 50p. It's only Primark though, and generally i don't buy Primark second hand, as the quality is not so great the first time round, but i really liked this bag.MAC Hue
My first MAC lipstick!! i bought Hue. I wanted a nice nude and Myth seemed a bit too drying. Creme d' Nude was lush, but was so melty and i dropped the tester on the floor (by accident) and it just kind of squidged and knowing me, i'd just ruin it, so i opted for Hue and i LOVE it!
Benefit Confessions of a Concealaholic
Hmmmm, the jury's still out on this one. I'm not overly impressed. I've used it a couple of times, but i don't think That Gal face primer makes any difference, or the Eyebright. The Lemon Aid is a bit hit and miss for me too. However i do like the Erase Paste and the Boi-ing. All in all, i doubt i will be re purchasing.

FAB packaging though!!!

Recent things i have bought!!!

Just thought i'd share some bargains with you!!!! below are my Nike Low Dunks, bought from Ebay for £7.01!!! well pleased with that, i must say! i'm quite fussy about trainers and don't like second hand ones (but believe me, i spend most of my money in charity shops, it's just something about second hand trainers...) these had only been worn once, and they are still in perfect condition. My other Nike boot trainers - i have been after a pair for ages and found these for £15.00 in TKMAXX. I love the pastel colours of them.

Ah, my gorgeous chunky bangle....60p in the Mind charity shop!!!
My cute little pumps, in my favourite coulour at the moment - a peachy corally pink which looks amazing with a tan. These were £5.00 from Tesco.

I have many more of these 'what i've bought' posts coming up, so stay tuned!!!

Flip In hair extensions

Okaaay, so this post is about a recent hair extension discovery of mine. I bought my hair extensions about 2 years ago and paid around £55.00 for them, including the clips. I had no idea how to wear them, cut a lot of them up into small strips, kept some long, sewed the clips tp them, etc, but nothing worked for me - my hair is way too thin to hold in the clips, plus i felt so self concious, like everyone could see the clips. I toyed with the idea of glue or sewing them in, but eventually, they ended up in a carrier bag in my wardrobe. UNTIL...... a couple of weeks ago when we were all down my boyfriends family's house for a get together, and i saw his step-sister Claire with some pretty nifty looking extensions in. She explained that she had been to a beauty roadshow, where she had seen Flip In extetions being showcased. Basically, they are extensions that go round your head on a clear elastcic band - it's hard to explain, so google it and see what i mean, because in my eyes, these things are a revelation!!! The only downside, is that they are waaay expensive £85 is the cheapest).

Anyway, the upshot of this is that Claire cleverly decided to make her on, sewing a regular hair elastic in place of the clear band (it just looks like you are wearing a hair band, or you could do the quiffy thing over the top of the band.)

So i raced home (sort of) and made my own, too! i measured 3 strips of my hair extensions and stitched them all together so they were nice and thick, and then sewed a band accross the top - and i'm not even joking i LOVE THEM!!! they don't fall out, take about 2 seconds to put in, and you can't see the join - i am officially in love!!!! i will upload some more in detail pics tomorrow!!!

Best of all, they don't damage your hair. Google it, watch thed demo video and then make your own, girls!!!

Mine were light brown with blonde streaks because that was the colour of my hair when i bought them, so i just bought a dark brown hair dye and dyed them to match my hair colour now!

confessions of a concealaholic

ok, this is a bit of a lame post, just to say how overly excited i am about the new Benefit kit Confessions of a concealaholic!!!!!!

i have long been dying to try out most of these Benefit concealing and brightenong products, but they are kind of pricey...for £28.50, you can get the lot in this cute little kit!! (albeit a lot smaller) but as my sister pointed out, as we ogled the Benefit catalogue she had picked up whilst shopping, the sizes aren't that different really. All in all i think it's great value for money, and me and my sister are going to get one each asap!!!!

wait for the review.....

ooooh and i got a little tin of cherry flavoured Carmex...heaven on a stick (or in a tin). The only thing is, it becomes weirdly antiseptic smelling and tasting once it's been applied. But man it's so lush.
And i WILL WILL WILL be blogging tomorrow and showing pictures of all the lustrous things i have bought since i last blogged (or at least some of them)
Till next time, bitches

long time no see

Wow, i haven't updated in sooo long! my laptop is driving me absolutely crazy, i think the battery is on it's way out. I have so many new things to show you....however they will have to wait for my next update as i have a naughty baby to deal with and my boyfriend is on his godforsaken Xbox which means i cannot upload any photos or it slows his online connection down. It's a serious business, killing people with your bare thumbs...
Anyway, i will be back v soon with a proper update.
Oh and welcome to my 6th follower, yay!!! (technically my 5th follower, if truth be told, as i somehow managed to follow myself)
Until next time

a few new bits and pieces

This is my newly organised vanity woooo i love it! These plastic storage boxes were from Poundland, and my brush holder is an old candle holder, but i've had it so many years now i can't remember where it's from!
This is one of those standard chests from Ikea, but i painted it cream gloss. I'm going to customise it soon though, as it's a bit plain. The green butterflies are tealight candle holders, which i bought from a charity shop for ££2.00 about a year ago - i absolutely love them, they are so pretty. The Marilyn Monroe tin is my money tin and is another Pounldand gem!

The mirrored chest was £16.00 from Sainsburys, but when i picked it up, i noticed a sort of shell - like mark under the surface on the top... the manager was called and he said i could have it for £11. The good thing was, i had £7.50 on my Nectar card so it only cost me £3.50!!!! that makes me love it even more. The mirror on top is an angled mirror, which was £10, also from Sainsbury's. it's brilliant for doing your make up in. My eyeshadow...sorry it's the same as usual, i haven't been that inventive of late! This was (again!!!) from my NYC palette (Best Of Broadway)

And this is my makeup, on the way to visit my mama in the hospital..she's just had an op on her spine :-(. She's fine though, and will be out tomorrow, thank goodness. The stress of it all has caused me to have two ginormous coldsores on my lip, which is NOT nice, i can tell you!

I've just started reading the first Twilight book - i've never seen the films or anything, and so far i really love the book - it's very atmospheric and i keep wanting to get into my bed and snuggle down to read it...and in my mind, Edward Cullen is Robert Pattinson, cos he's in the movies and he is so lush, who wouldn't want to snuggle down with him?! hahahaa
Until next time

88 warm palette

My new 88 warm palette from Ebay... I swatched the silver, it is a rich intense highly pigmented colour
The colours got a bit mixed up because some of them fell out when i opened it!! there are some beautiful browns, blacks, golds and plum colours in the palette, as well as lots of highlighting shades

Oh hi me! it has a good mirror inside..

Funny lighting, but you get the idea (or picture, haha)

Posh sleek black ultra slim casing...

The outer box. Made by the company Fraulein. I shall be ordering the 88 shimmer palette from them soon. It cost be £12.50 inc p&p. I will do some looks with this asap and post them!!
Until next time
